Genesis Bordner - Core Beliefs

Principles over party. Relentless problem solving. Community cooperation.

Your Government Should Serve YOU

Your government has a responsibility to actively seek out and expand opportunities for dialogue with the public.

That’s one reason small local governments matters so much: regular people should be able to access their county officials—and actually be heard.

That’s why my lines are always open. You can text or call me directly. And once elected, I’ll push for regular public surveys that are easy to access, along with clear, plain-language synopses of Council activity so residents aren’t forced to dig through hours of meetings just to understand what’s happening.

No more backrooms. No more closed doors. No more “you’ll find out after it’s too late.”

Power Must Stay Balanced

A thriving county needs both a strong economy and strong protections for the people who live here.

I believe in the power of the private sector to create jobs, innovation, and opportunity — and I believe government has a responsibility to make sure growth is fair, transparent, and sustainable.

When power tilts too far in one direction, trust collapses. Residents deserve leadership that keeps decision-making honest, puts the public first, and ensures prosperity doesn’t come at the expense of everyday families.

Affordability

Affordability doesn’t disappear overnight — it erodes when government stops planning for real life.

When growth is rushed, unbalanced, or driven by private interests instead of public need, residents pay the price: higher utility bills, higher insurance, higher rent, more traffic, and more stress — while everyday families fall further behind.

Smart planning is how we rebalance affordability. That means thinking long-term, building resilient infrastructure, and making decisions based on what protects residents five, ten, and twenty years from now — not what looks good in a ribbon-cutting photo.

I believe in growth that strengthens our community, not growth that prices it out.

Government Works Better When People Are Heard

I believe the best government is built in the open.

That’s why I’m committed to hosting regular public meetings where residents can speak freely, ask questions, and get real answers — without being talked down to or brushed aside.

Small - local government should be the most accessible level of leadership we have, and that means creating more opportunities for two-way communication, not fewer.

If you agree with me - good. Let's work together to make a better place to live.

If you disagree with me - good. Let's work together to make a better place to live.

Once elected, I will work to make sure residents have clear, consistent ways to stay informed and be heard — because decisions that affect everyone shouldn’t be made behind closed doors.
